Application
Suitable for: sealing of moving joints, expansion and connection joints, seams and cracks in construction, houses, cars, boats and caravans. Universal adhesion without primer to all common building materials, such as concrete, stone, ceramics, enamel, glass, metal, rubber and wood. Does not adhere to bitumen, polyethylene, polypropylene and PTFE.
Not suitable for: aquariums, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), PTFE and bitumen.
Before use
Working conditions: Apply only at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C.
Surface requirements: The surface must be dry, clean and free of dust, rust and grease.
Surface pre-treatment: For a good result, cover the joint edges with masking tape. If necessary, prevent three-sided adhesion by filling the joint with a foam backer rod or PE film.
Tools: Apply the cartridge with a caulk gun. Multi Tool to open the cartridge and tool the sealant.
Yield: Content suitable for approx. 8 to 15 m (depending on joint diameter).
During use
Instructions on the packaging: Use a caulk gun to handle the cartridge. Open the cartridge by cutting off the plastic nipple on the top side at the screw thread with a sharp knife. Screw on the nozzle and bevel to the desired width.
Method of use: Ensure a minimum joint width of 6 mm and a maximum of 20 mm. The joint depth depends on the joint width. Maintain a joint depth of 6 mm up to a joint width of 12 mm. Beyond that, the joint depth should be half of the joint width. Apply the sealant evenly into the joint, then tool within 10 minutes. Remove the applied masking tape immediately after tooling. After approx. 15 minutes, a surface skin will form. Cured silicone sealant can only be removed mechanically.
Please note: Silicone cures under the influence of moisture. Contact with moisture is therefore absolutely necessary during curing. Have a joint that is at least 6 mm wide.
After use
Stains/residue: Remove stains immediately with white spirit. Cured sealant can be removed mechanically.
Storage conditions: Store in tightly sealed packaging in a dry place at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C.
